Summer is almost knocking at our doors and I am not so happy about it. Summer means more sweat, dirt and pollution which makes my skin so dull and lifeless. My sensitive skin needs a natural remedy for this problem which leads me to an Indian Skincare brand. Kama Ayurveda is a 100% natural, ayurvedic brand which has so many options for skin and hair care regime. My first purchase from them was ‘MRIDUL’ – it is a 100% soap-free face cleanser.
About The Product
This product is a natural face cleanser. It is non-drying and can be used as a daily alternative to soap. A traditional combination of herbs, cereals and pulses that gently cleanse and exfoliate facial skin. Amongst its ingredients are Oatmeal, Green Gram, Almond, Neem, Sandalwood, Turmeric, Rose and Fennel.
Price : Rs. 425/-
Net Weight : 40 gm.
The packaging is quite old school type. It remind me of Indian spice containers. It’s a steel jar , comes along with a wooden spoon . The product was originally in a sealed packet which I had to pour into the container. You can find all the details and ingredients list on the container itself.
This face cleanser is in a powder form . The color of the product is sort of greenish and you can strongly smell Neem and Sandalwood from it. The texture of the face cleanser is quite grainy which can be used as a scrubbing purpose also. I am,curently using it in two ways :
As a Face Cleanser :
You have to take 1 spoonful of the powder and add some drops of water or rosewater to make a paste . Then apply it all over your damp face and neck. You have to gently rub it for 1-2 minutes and then wash off with clean water.
As a Face Mask :
If you want to use this as an Ubtaan, this is the second technique to use Kama Ayurveda’s Mridul. Take 2 spoonful of the product and mix it with rosewater or yoghurt and apply it all over your face and neck. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off. This method will work better on sensitive skin.
Good Things about It :
- Made with 100% natural ingredients
- Makes skin supple and smooth
- Works on acne-prone skin
- Removes sun-tan too.
Not So Good Things about It :
- Packaging is not so travel-friendly.
- Slightly overpriced for 40 grams of product.
- The container can catch rust, if stored in wet places like bathrooms.
I have been using this for the past couple of months and I am mighty impressed with it. Cleansing, Scrubbing, Face-mask – all in one. I, normally use it along it Kama Ayurveda’s Pure Rose Water which works wonders for my skin.
Do give it a try !
