It is an universally acclaimed skincare brand which consists of Facial Scrubs, Moisturisers, Face Cleansing Sticks, Sheet Masks & what not ! These are everyone’s favourite and I am also a fan of this brand.

Review: St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub

Recently, I got a chance to receive & review their newly revamped version of St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub. These have been doing well in the market for quite some time now but recently, the brand changed their packaging & formula a little bit. This apricot scrub has also won the ‘Allure Readers’ Choice Award in the year 2016. St. Ives facial scrubs are the most talked about product in the town recently.

Packaging

There is nothing fancy about the packaging. It’s a typical tube with the flip top opening. You can find all the product details on the tube itself. Too simple yet effective.

Texture

The texture is quite coarse for my liking. I know, facial scrubs do have that tiny granules which removes the dead skin & impurities but St. Ives apricot scrub has too much grainy granules in it which can be a concern for sensitive skins. It may cause some redness or irritation to the skin. The smell is quite refreshing though.

My Personal Experience

I personally, like St. Ives as a brand. I have been using their products for so long now, even I am a fan of their Skin Collagen Cream. Also I have used their Oatmeal scrub & mask earlier. Now, coming to this apricot scrub, It is quite effective in removing all the impurities and gives a squeaky , clean face. The oil control is good too. But in a country like India, in summer, our skin become a little sensitive , so using this face scrub can be a little harsh on many. So, you have to be a little careful about that. It will work great as a body scrub, if you can understand what I mean ! I normally use it on my neck, elbow, hands as well. I found out that the Oatmeal scrub which I have used earlier had a gentle exfoliation factor, whereas, the apricot one has a deep exfoliation factor which results in some rough granules in it. You can find the level of exfoliation, marked on the back of the tube , i.e. Gentle, Moderate or Deep. Use twice a week.

Overall, St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub is a decent buy . Using it once or twice a week can be a option in your skincare routine.

Let me know how you like it….

Review: Suganda White Lotus Moisturiser

Hello beauties

I have been looking for a light weight moisturiser this summer when Suganda team contacted me. They were so kind to first ask me my skin type & my skin concern rather than just sending a product randomly ! When I informed them about my requirements, they sent me over their much-raved product, Suganda White Lotus Moisturiser. I was really very excited to receive this moisturiser to try out.

Suganda White Lotus Moisturiser

The packaging of the Suganda White Lotus Moisturiser really impresses me. It comes in a solid glass bottle packaging with a pump dispenser. The packaging is quite classy & elegant. There is a plastic cap which protects the pump dispenser too. The pump actually works good as it does not spill the product everywhere. All the necessary details are there on the bottle including the manufacturing & expiry dates. I got a freshly manufactured product which will expire in next one & a half years.

Suganda White Lotus Moisturiser

Now,coming to the moisturiser itself, it is a pale white liquid with a serum like consistency. The smell is really calming & soothing as it reminds me of fresh lotuses only. The consistency ,as I have mentioned before is serum like which absorbs so quickly on my skin. It does not leave any greasiness, whatsoever. You only need 3-4 pumps to cover your entire face & neck . It is advised to use two times a day ; morning & evening.

Suganda White Lotus Moisturiser

I have been religiously using this moisturiser for the last few weeks & I am really impressed. Generally, I don’t believe in the skin lightening fact, as mentioned by the brand, but other than that, this is a must have moisturiser for oily & combination skin. It doesn’t feel like you have anything on your face. You feel the softness it provides & it actually works on itchy & irritated skin. In summer, my face becomes red & a little itchy sometimes, and after using the moisturiser, it actually calmed it down.

Suganda White Lotus Moisturiser

My Thoughts

So, Overall, I really liked this product a lot. It is definitely a saviour this summer season when Kolkata is so hot & humid, it helps in keeping up with the hydration & moisturization of my skin. Some of you may feel that it’s a little pricey for the quantity but the bottle lasts you easily for 3 months, using twice daily. Now,you can do the math, right? Also, Suganda offers some discounts occasionally in their site, so you can grab it at a discounted price as well ! Do follow their Instagram handle @suganda.co for exciting offers & new launches !
